AWARDS & RECOGNITION

AWARD DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS
ROBIN GOSS CUB LEADER
AND VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD
TO HONOR THE CUB LEADER OR VOLUNTEER WHO HAS MADE THE MOST OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO CUB SCOUTING WHICH RESULTED IN SUCCESS FOR THE UNIT AND/OR CUB SCOUTING AS A WHOLE IN THE MOUNTAIN LAKE DISTRICT. AN AWARD ESTABLISHED IN 1999 BY DISTRICT SCOUTERS OF THE MOUNTAIN LAKE DISTRICT, CIRCLE 10 COUNCIL, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, AND DEDICATED TO A LONG-TIME SCOUTER WHO HAS SERVED IN MANY CAPACITIES IN SCOUTING INCLUDING DEN LEADER, DEN COACH, POW WOW CHAIRMAN, DAY CAMP DIRECTOR AND ROUNDTABLE COMMISSIONER.  RECIPIENT OF BOTH THE DISTRICT AWARD OF MERIT AND THE COUNCIL’S HIGHEST AWARD TO A DISTRICT SCOUTER, THE SILVER BEAVER.  A WOOD BADGER AND CONTINUING CONTRIBUTOR TO CUBBING, WITH MORE THAN 20 YEARS F SERVICE.  THE AWARD WAS DEDICATED TO ROBIN GOSS.
BO MARPLE UNIT SERVICE AWARD – (BOY SCOUT LEADERSHIP) TO HONOR THE SCOUTER WHO HAS MADE THE YEAR’S MOST OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO SCOUTING ON THE BOY SCOUT TROOP LEVEL IN THE MOUNTIAN LAKE DISTRICT.

WRITE-UP SHOULD INCLUDE THE NOMINEE’S ONGOING INVOLVEMENT IN BOY SCOUT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS TROOP LEADERSHIP, COMMITTEE PROJECTS, COUNCIL DIRECTED ACTIVITIES INCLUDING POP CORN SALES, BOY SCOUT EXHIBTIONS, FOOD DRIVES, SCHOOL NIGHT FOR SCOUTING, AND OTHER WORTHWHILE COMMUNITY PROJECTS.  DIRECT INVOLMENT WITH BOYS IN COUNSELING, CAMPING ACTIVITIES, ADVANCEMENT, TREK, TOUR AND RELATED ACTIVITIES, SHOULD ALSO BE INCLUDED.

NOMINATIONS SHOULD BE IN BY NOVEMBER 1ST.  EACH YEAR THE AWARD WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE ANNUAL DISTRICT DINNER IN DECEMBER.

HARRY A. KING, JR. SERVICE AWARD – (DISTRICT LEADERSHIP)

AN AWARD ESTABLISHED IN 1997 BY DISTRICT SCOUTERS OF THE MOUNTIAN LAKE DISTRICT, CIRCLE 10 COUNCIL BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA AND DEDICATED TO A LONG-TIME SCOUTER WHO HAS SERVED SCOUTING AS A CUB MASTER, SCOUTMASTER, EXPLORER ADVISOR, AND EVERY OFFICE OF DISTRICT OPERATIONS.  AN EAGLE SCOUT, SILVER BEAVER RECIPIENT, VIGIL OA MEMBER, AND SIXTY YEAR VETERAN OF SCOUTING.  THIS AWARD WAS DEDICATED TO HARRY A. KING, JR.

 
Barber / Poindexter Golden Award To honor the Scouter who has continued their loyalty within Scouting and has continued their service in leadership while helping those in the Mountain Lake District.  
District Award of Merit To honor the individual who has rendered an outstanding service to the overall Scouting program in Mountain Lake District. SEE FLYER
